&ムラサキ科 【属名】メルテンシア; ハマベンケイソウ属 bluebells; lungwort 約40～45種からなり、アジア・ヨーロッパ・北米の温帯に分布する。肥大する根をもつ多年草。紫紅・青・白などの花が咲く。 &Mertensia maritima;Pneumaria maritima;Pulmonaria maritima &ムラサキ科 オイスター・リーフ oysterleaf; oyster plant; northern shore wort 多年草。無毛で灰緑色を帯びる。葉は倒卵形で長さ4cm。花は円錐形の集散花序に多数つき、径1cmで桃色、後青色に変わる。 &Mertensia paniculata &ムラサキ科 タカオカソウ tall bluebells 直立し、高さ1mになる多年草。葉は卵形から披針形まであり、先端が細くなる。花は長さ1.5cm、桃色ときに白色で後に青色に変わる。 &Mertensia virginica &ムラサキ科 ブルーベル bluebells; Virginian bluebell; Virginia bluebell; Virginian cowslip; Virginia cowslip; Roanoke-bells; 多年草。葉は卵形で青緑色。春、茎頂に穂状花序が出て、青い漏斗形の花が下向きに咲く。
