- 生薬の刺五加はエゾウコギ, シベリア人参(Eleutherococcus senticosus (Ruprecht et Maximowicz) Maximowicz (Acanthopanax senticosus (Ruprecht et Maximowicz) Harms))の根皮である。

- ウコギ科 エゾウコギ Siberian ginseng 耐寒性のある低木。チョウセンニンジンと同様の薬効がある。チェルノブイリ原発事故の後、被爆者の治療に用いられた。
- Eleutherococcus sieboldianus (Makino) Koidz.;Aralia pentaphylla;Acanthopanax sieboldianus
- ウコギ科 ウコギ; ヒメウコギ; ヨウシュエゾウコギ hedging eleutherococcus; free pips 株立ちになる落葉低木。根と葉にチョウセンニンジンと同じ薬効がある。
