Lithospermum erythrorhizon

花は白色で小さく、名前は「群ら咲き」から出ている。野生品は現在絶滅危惧種。根は布を高貴な色である紫色の染料だけでなく、紫根（しこん）と呼ばれる生薬。やけどや痔疾に使われる紫雲膏の主成分。 [原産]?? 出典: 毒と薬の世界史舟山信次中公新書(2008)
