Food containing high α-carotene

Only deep-yellow vegetables contain α-carotene. Yellow/red peppers and other vegetables contain < 100 mcg.

A variety of vegetables contains β-carotene. Green vegetables contain as much β-carotene as yellow or red ones.

It is scarce in vegetables. Only oranges, peaches, and tangerines contain 149-1060 μg / 100g, and the amount is much less than carotenes in other vegetables.

Food containing high Lycopene

Tomato is the major source of lycopene. Watermelon, guava, apricot and pink grapefruit contain lycopene to a lesser extent. Other vegetables do not contain lycopene.
